 Wind-Damp Bi

Pin Yin: fengshibi
Symptoms:
Note: If Cold attributes are predominant, the pain quality is characterized by tightness and cramping, a tight pulse, and is relieved by heat. If Wind is predominant, the pains are characterized by spasms or aching that wanders and is aggravated by draft and cold. If Dampness is predominant, the pains are accompanied by fatigue and a heaviness of the limbs, with pains being more localized than the Wind type. This Pattern commonly manifests in arthritic-like conditions.
-- [Wind-Damp-Cold Bi] has some of the qualities of the symptom-sign definitions of Exterior Wind, Cold, and Dampness, with an emphasis on the joint and muscle symptoms rather than upper respiratory symptoms.
-- [If Wind-Damp Bi or Wind-Damp-Cold Bi becomes prolonged and the Qi becomes excessively stagnated, they may transform into Wind-Damp-Heat Bi. One example of this is active rheumatoid arthritis.]
Pain: pain; of joints; of muscles.
