 ShaoYin-stage Vacuity Heat


Pin Yin: shao yin re hua
Symptoms:
acute, becoming chronic; fatigue; aversion to heat; heat effusion, especially in afternoon; hot palms, soles and head; hot flushes; nightsweats.
shallow respiration; dyspnea.
dry mouth and throat; thirsty; prefers cold drinks.
dark urine .
Pain: soreness or ache; of lower back (lumbar, sacral); relieved by pressure or touch.
Sensory abnormalities: vertigo.
Sleep: insomnia.
Activity and movement: rapid; weak; .
speech: rapid; quiet voice.
Affect: irritable; agitated or restless; excitable but lacks persistence; poor memory.
Signs:
Tongue Body: dark red; fissures.
Tongue Coat: absent, or very thin; white, perhaps yellow.
Pulse: weak-thready, especially L3 (L-chi); rapid.
Complexion, other: face, especially cheeks, reddish; underweight.
Pattern derived from: Kidney Yin Vacuity.
