 Kidney Essence Vacuity


Pin Yin: shen jing bu zu
Symptoms:
fatigue; spontaneous sweating .
shallow respiration.
pale urine; seminal emission.
Pain: soreness or ache; of lower back (lumbar, sacral); relieved by pressure or touch.
Sensory abnormalities: deafness.
Activity and movement: slow; weak; .
speech: quiet voice; .
Affect: withdrawn; poor memory; fearful, easily frightened.
-- impotence; sterility; loose teeth; slow physical or mental development; premature aging; senility; brittle bones.
Signs:
Tongue Body: pale.
Tongue Coat: normal to thin.
Pulse: weak-empty-frail, especially R3 (R-chi).
Complexion, other: face pale and lustrous.
Pattern derived from: Kidney Qi Vacuity, which is in turn derived from Vacuity of Qi. Key indications for Kidney Essence Vacuity, which are the same for Kidney Qi Vacuity, are notated by red type; the additional differentiations for Kidney Essence Vacuity are notated by purple type.

-Supplement Yin; especially herbs like Rx Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conquitae and Rx Dioscoreae Oppositae to help balance the nature of herbs that Supplement Yang.
