Common name: realgar (arsenic sulfide)
Botanical family: (mineral)

Primary action: External use
Temperature: warm
Taste: acrid, bitter, poisonous
Entering Channel: Ht, Lv, St

Actions:
   Used topically to detoxify Poison and kill parasites; used for scabies, ringworm, and Damp-type rashes, abscesses, and snakebite.
   Kills parasites (especially roundworms); especially when there are symptoms of Intestinal Accumulation, including abdominal distension and discomfort.

Cautions:
   Avoid use due to consequences of long-term arsenic toxicity.
 

Dosage: 0.05-0.2 qian in decoctions; when used topically, ground into powder or toasted.
