Botanical name: 1, Phellodendron amurensis Rupr.; 2, P. chinense Schneid.

Primary action: Clear Heat, Dry Dampness

Entering Channel: Kd, UB, LI

Actions:
   Drains Damp Heat, especially of Lower Burner (UB and LI) and for Damp Heat jaundice.
   Relieves Damp Hot Leg Qi with red, painful and swollen legs.
   Lowers Vacuity Heat Kidney Fire (it does this by clearing the Heat, other herbs are needed to restore the Yin).
   Drains Fire and detoxifies Fire Poison with sores and skin lesions.
