Pin Yin: qian hu
Botanical family: Umbelliferae
Botanical name: 1, Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn.; 2, P. decursivum (Miq.) Maxim.

Primary action: Transform Hot Phlegm
Secondary actions: Rectify Qi; Stop Cough and Wheezing; Release Wind Heat
Temperature: cool
Taste: acrid, bitter
Entering Channel: Lu, Sp

Actions:
   Guides Lung Qi downward and alleviates coughing due to Lung Heat and Phlegm.
   Releases Exterior Wind Heat with coughing and copious thick sputum; also can be used for Exterior Wind Cold when combined with other herbs.

Indications: cough, headache, sore throat

Dosage: 1-3 qian.
