Common name: sodium sulfate with minor amounts of calcium sulfate and magnesium sulfate; glauber's salt

Primary action: Drain-Attack

Taste: acrid, bitter, salty
Entering Channel: St, LI

Actions:
   Drains Heat and moves and softens stool; used for Repletion Heat in Stomach and Large Intestine with hard, impacted feces.
   When used topically: clears Heat and reduces swelling, especially of the eyes, oral cavity and skin.

Indications: constipation, red eyes, sore throat, mouth sores, sores

Dosage: 1-3 qian.
