Bupleuri, Rx [chai hu] 3-4
Citri seu Ponciri Immaturus, Fr (= Aurantii Immaturus, Fr) [zhi shi] 3-4
Paeoniae Lactiflorae, Rx [bai shao] 4-8
Glycyrrhizae, Rx [gan cao] 2-3

 


   Associated Modern Diseases: gastritis, peptic ulcer, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, hepatitis, intestinal obstruction, mastitis, fibrocystic breasts.

A variation of this formula called chai hu shu gan wan is used more often. It adds chuan xiong, chen pi and xiang fu.
